Playing Augusta National Golf Course
For an avid golfer like me, playing Augusta National Golf Course was a goal that I always had in the back of my mind as it represents the pinnacle of the sport I love. Augusta National is a course where all great golfers have played at least once and has one of the richest histories in the sport. Golf Digest recently ranked it the third best course in the world. Playing is by invitation only and thanks to our mosaic glass artist, Paul Pearman and his club member good friend, I received an invitation to play the other weekend.
Augusta National has been home of The Masters PGA golf tournament since 1934, one of the four major championships in professional golf. It is known to be one of the most magnificent golf courses in the world and has continually undergone design changes to enhance the competition. The club strictly upholds the honors and traditions of the game.
The thrill of being there and playing the same course as famous players like Tiger woods, Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer & Raymond Floyd was simply amazing. That magical feeling as I was walking the course so many of the “greats” of golf have played is hard to describe.
The course was in immaculate shape and completely lived up to its reputation. Everything there was beyond perfect, including my attentive and knowledgeable caddie, and everyone at the facility who excels at making members and guests feel truly special. As a bonus, I even managed a decent score on my round.
Experiences like these are meant to be captured and shared, and like so many of our other unique buckles, jewelry, and collectibles, the memorable experience of Augusta National inspired me to introduce two new golf themed buckles into the J.W. Cooper collection. The sterling silver buckles with 14K gold golfer figure, oval wire frame and border are available with or without crossed clubs. The sterling silver background is hand engraved. These unique collectibles are the perfect way for passionate golfers like myself to convey their personality. And they make great conversation starters to share your own exceptional golf experiences.
