If you happen to walk by J. W. Cooper at the Bal Harbour Shops on Collins Avenue, your eye will be drawn directly to the motorcycle on our display floor. The motorcycle, a 1998 Harley Davidson Road King, really pulls a lot of people into the store, and not just because it’s a motorcycle in a jewelry and fine art gallery. People are drawn to it because of the glass mosaic depicting Vincent van Gogh’s “Starry Night” that covers its body. In each of the mosaic’s star clusters sits a semi-precious citrine, moonstone, opal, or sapphire. It is a really unique work of art, and in a way, represents what the store, carrying luxury handmade accessories, luxury leather belts and sterling silver buckles, has come to mean.

We also work with different jewelry makers and artists to provide you with a unique selection of items exclusive to J. W. Cooper. You won’t find many of these fine pieces, made both in the United States and abroad, in any other stores. For example, one particular piece we are proud of, a bracelet of 18K gold skulls with diamonds for eyes, came to us from a gentleman in Europe. The artists we work with draw inspiration from the animalistic, the macabre, and the totemic from various cultures around the world.
